Is there "House" in all of us??

I was watching an episode of House last night and started thinking about about what it was about him that was so appealing. I absolutely love the show and was contemplating watching the next episode following it but it was approaching 1 a.m.

On most television shows, there is a cast of characters that often makes the show work. Such as with other medical shows, E.R. and Grey's Anatomy, the synergy between the characters and story line are what have created their success. I mean how many people actually tune into Grey's Anatomy for Meredith? More like for McDreamy and McSteamy I would think!

With House, the main draw really for me is Hugh Laurie. He is a tremendous actor most certainly. I wonder though.. do many of us like the show perhaps because there is a little "House " in all of us?
