Describe Yourself: I’m 6’ 0” tall, 205 lbs. At first that makes me sound like a buff dude but unfortunately that weight is distributed in all the wrong places. If I had as much muscle in my arms as I do my mouth I would be in pretty good shape. I’m a 38 waist and should be a 35. I’m about 20 lbs overweight. I really need to start exercising; I'm starting to get that turkey neck thing going. Doc says at my age my metabolism is slowing down. And all this time I thought it was the chips and candy. Speaking of snacks I should mention that I still have most of my teeth. Oral hygiene is important to me. My hair is mostly grey, although I dye it brown...Clairol #43...we can play this game too ladies!
I'm always fishing for a laugh. I sometimes say things just to make me laugh. I try to find humor in just about everything. Life should be enjoyed and there's nothing like a good laugh. I don't smoke, rarely drink and D/DF.
I'm mostly house broken. I pick up after myself, I can actually manage to get my dirty laundry into the basket, my kitchen is clean, house is presentable at any given time, although I will admit I haven't got the toilet seat thing down and probably won't at my age...can't teach an old dog new tricks and all that.
Right now I'm just looking for a companion, someone who is seeking the wisdom of God and looking to enhance their spiritual life. I enjoy helping those in need. I'm a conservative on the political side of things, it kind of goes with being a Christian. I'm really what’s defined as a constitutionalist, I say conservative because the title is more recognizable.
I still have a 16 year old boy at home with me and a 10-yr old cat...who thinks this is her house and that we’re her pets. I have two older daughters that live elsewhere and two grandchildren...I’m still having a hard time accepting the title of grandparent. It seems like I just went through puberty a few years ago. I swear...the older I get the faster time goes by. Ah...the joys of middle age! Speaking of which, do you know how to tell when you’ve reached middle age? When you bend down to tie your shoes and you look around to see what else you can do down there before you get back up.
I'm currently separated. The soon-to-be-ex filed for divorce in June of 2009 and then fled to Nashville with our minor child, thus the reason for the delay. Look...I'm not a married man looking for a fling. I'm available for a monogamous relationship and the divorce should be final within the next 6 months. After two years I’m just tired of being alone. And no I have no interest in getting back with her...ever! So please don't let the legalities hinder your decision.
INTERESTS
My son and I love to travel, like a weekend in the mountains, historic sights, landmarks etc. We love to camp and do it frequently. We have a small tent trailer with all the amenities, heat, ac, hot and cold water etc. We spend most of our time at Allatoona Lake but we do go to other places, FL, AL, TN, NC, SC.
We prefer the mountains over the beach. There’s nothing like the sound of...nothing. We do enjoy the beach but just prefer the mountains. We like to travel a lot, by automobile. I've been to every state east of the Mississippi except Maine and been to all but five west of it. I've even been to Canada...eh!
THINGS I LIKE
The sound of rain on the roof, a cloudy day...on occasion. Cats, dogs, trains and planes...the propeller kind. Home cooked meals, an occasional glass of wine...sweet, not dry, sitting around a campfire, a drive in the country, an evening with friends, exploring old buildings, a weekend getaway...camping or hotel. And my favorite thing of all, sneak attacking the cat. WHAT! She does it to me...that flea bitten, fur bearing varmint, as Yosemite Sam would say. Oh yea and I forgot...cartoons.
